College of Alameda’s Center for Applied Learning offers students, community members and lifelong learners the opportunity to apply what they learn in the college classroom to real-world situations and projects. Whether you want to develop a new career, update your skills, or do community-based work, the Center for Applied Learning will help you to transform your learning into action.

Some of the courses offered through the Center may be part of a College of Alameda Associate’s Degree program. Others are fee-based, noncredit courses designed for skills upgrade, and may offer continuing education credits or skills certification. Some allow you to complete your studies off-campus, either at your home computer or at your workplace.
